Self Portraits in Japan

This self portrait series hopefully will reveal some aspects of aging. One thing for sure I don’t think humans will ever be able to reverse aging, they may be able to slow it but its a commonality all humans share to there grave.

I’m happy drawing myself, for me the years of sun on my skin in Australia  has scared my face in an interesting but  also in a dangerous way as I have had several serious skin cancer removed (Keep Out of the Sun). Nonetheless it does make my face interesting to draw even if it looks like a mess. And better still I don’t complain if I do draw my own face as a mess, that’s how it is now weathered and old.
